When did you begin creating art?

I always have been creative, but I began writing poetry in 2022.

What is your favorite medium?

My favorite medium for poetry is my 1957 typewriter! I also do embroidery and cross-stitch, so a needle and thread.

Where do you find inspiration?

Inspiration can come from anywhere, anyone, and anything. I wear my heart on my sleeve and after going through a really difficult time, I needed an outlet for my emotions. I truly think that through poetry, therapy, & self-acceptance I can say I’m at peace internally. Life is & always will be full of ebb & flows but it’s how you recover in the darker moments that matter.

What motivates you to create?

The human connection that you not only feel with yourself, but with others, motivates me.

Why did you choose to donate to ED Warriors?

I struggled with an eating disorder in my teens through early 20s. I think if girls are taught at a young age what a realistic healthy relationship with food & their bodies look like, that can be very impactful. If someone is struggling right now, having a place to go to for help is crucial. Taking the first step towards a change is always the most intimating.
